The following pages will provide general infertility information and terminology as well as information on various infertility treatment options.  Our goal is to arm you with up-to-date and useful information, but in no way do we suggest or endorse your pursuit of any particular treatment.  Please talk to your doctor to determine the most appropriate treatment for your condition.

  • General Information:  includes the definition of infertility, infertility statistics, information on diagnoses, and male and female factors influencing fertility. 

  • Terminology: provides a list of commonly used terms and acronyms (and their definitions) pertaining to infertility and assisted reproductive technologies.

  • Ovulation Induction:  describes the treatments used to induce ovulation in females who do not currently ovulate naturally or have erratic cycles.

  • Hyperstimulation:   provides a protocol for hyperstimulation treatment to induce the ovaries to produce and ovulate multiple eggs.  This is a more aggressive treatment than ovulation induction.

  • IUI:  provides a description of intrauterine insemination (IUI).  This procedure may be carefully timed with a natural cycle or used in conjunction with medications such as Clomid, Femara, and FSH that induce ovulation.

  • IVF:  provides a protocol for in vitro fertilization.

  • IVF with ICSI:  Intracytoplasmic sperm injection.

  • FET:  Frozen embryo transfer

  • Donor:  provides links and useful information with regards to donor sperm, donor eggs, and embryo adoption.

  • Adoption:  provides useful information and links pertaining to adoption.
